Jacob Jordaens (1593 – 1678) was a Flemish painter renowned for his historical paintings, everyday scenes, and portraits. After Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony van Dyck, Jacob was the most important Flemish Baroque painter of his period.

His masterpieces have been sold for prices exceeding one million euros.
